Flossie Brunson Park is at the heart of the Eastside Community and needed a major update after years of use. Friends of Jax Playgrounds teamed up with LIFT JAX, Inc. and East symbol of community spirit and inclusive fun in East Jacksonville.

Florida C. Dwight Memorial Playground is a fantastic addition to the child-friendly parks in the La Villa section of downtown Jacksonville. This community playground is not only a welcoming space for families but is also adjacent to Groundwork Jacksonville's Emerald Trail, enhancing the area's playground renovations.

This community playground has the double duty of serving the local neighborhood and providing a child-friendly park for the children at Whitehouse Elementary School. 


The previous playground was in desperate need of renovations to promote more imaginative play that keeps kids engaged. A heartfelt thank you to the contributors who helped us raise funds for this project!

This large space serves as one of the premier community playgrounds, receiving overflow from Woodland Acres Elementary School and the surrounding area. Previously, the equipment was tired and in need of renovation; now, following extensive playground renovations, it is filled with stimulating play areas suitable for children of all ages, making it a truly child-friendly park!

This community playground is a shining example of a successful public/private partnership, delivering benefits to numerous families. With support from a matching grant from The Delores Barr Weaver Fund, along with contributions from Henry's Heroes, CSX, and Friends of Jax Playgrounds, this is Jacksonville's FIRST fully-accessible and all-inclusive playground for people with limited mobility, making it one of the premier child-friendly parks in the area!

This community playground serves a large surrounding area, offering a child-friendly park where young children can enjoy play equipment designed just for them. We collaborated with the City of Jacksonville to enhance the space through playground renovations, bringing children back for more fun and challenging play.

This 125-acre park is a treasure among child-friendly parks in northwest Jacksonville. The playground area has been cherished by school groups, church groups, and families from all over. After 25+ years, it was in dire need of renovation and ADA compliance. We collaborated with District 10 City Councilman and the Parks and Recreation Department to revitalize this beautiful, shaded community playground with innovative play features!

This community playground was weather beaten and in need of a renovation. The recent upgrades have transformed it into a vibrant child-friendly park that now features climbing, spinning, and swinging equipment, all while maintaining a small neighborhood footprint.


This renovation is a collaborative effort with the City of Jacksonville, private donors, and Friends of Jax Playgrounds.

This community playground was the launch pad for our non-profit.


Thanks to incredibly generous donors, including a gift from the Delores Barr Weaver Fund, we raised $90,000 in donations. This amount was supplemented by budgeted funds from Parks & Recreation and district funds from City Councilman Jim Love.


Today, this revitalized area serves as one of the premier child-friendly parks, bringing families together for play and fitness through thoughtful playground renovations.
